Solas is a character from Dragon Age. He made his series debut in Chillin' in Columbia.

Canon

Solas is a character from Dragon Age: Inquisition, the third entry in the Dragon Age series.

Solas grew up in a small village, spending most of his life wandering the wilderness. Despite having no contact with the Circle of Magi or any Dalish tutors, Solas taught himself how to master his magical abilities.

Solas is, in truth, an ancient elf and the secret identity of the elven god, Fen'Harel. He was once in conflict with the other elven gods over the murder of one of their own, Mythal. As an act of revenge, Solas constructed the Veil and banished the elven gods. Solas fell into a deep slumber after this, unaware that the construction of the Veil caused many unintended consequences. The Fade was now locked away and elves lost their immortality.

When he awoke, it became Solas' desire to reverse the Veil's creation and restore the elven people, no matter the cost. Solas' initial plan was to use the Orb of Fen'Harel to breach the Veil, though he was too weak after his long slumber to use the orb. Instead, Solas allowed a being called Corypheus to acquire the orb so that he could unlock it instead. Solas expected the being to die, but instead he lived and opened a hole in the Veil, causing unprecedented destruction.

A force known as the Inquisition formed in order to stop Corypheus and Solas joined them, though he kept his real identity a secret. The Inquisition managed to defeat Corypheus, though the orb was destroyed in the final battle and Solas decided to leave the Inquisition.

Pre-Convergence

As an unintentional consequence of Solas constructing the Veil and locking away the Fade, the Fade eventually became a part of a realm known as the Dark Place. Though it is Solas' desire to tear down the Veil, he was unaware of the Fade's new connection to the Dark Place.

Prior to Solas' appearance in Chillin' in Columbia, Xehanort had opened a portal near the elf, causing him to enter and discover the Dark Place and the multiverse that existed outside his home world. It is from this moment that Solas went on to meet Zaheer and envision a plan that, by happenstance, involved Junko Enoshima.

Solas managed to secure a second Orb of Fen'Harel by infiltrating an alternate version of his world via the Fade using knowledge gained from being shown the multiverse.

Plot Involvement

Chillin' in Columbia

Solas appeared disguised as a store clerk, offering Junko Enoshima a chance to travel to other worlds like she always wanted, and briefly interacting with Lincoln Campbell.

The Girls Who Met Through Time

Solas, wanting to use Junko Enoshima for his own goals, told Junko to touch the Orb of Fen'Harel that gave her uncontrollable powers to travel through time called the Anchor, inadvertently sending her through time.

Welcome to the Falls

Solas, at some point following The Girls Who Met Through Time, first appeared in the fourth chapter of the event, suddenly appearing to save the likes of Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, Michiko Malandro, Hana Morenos, Lincoln, and Junko Enoshima from a horde of zombies. Afterward, he led them all toward the Fade, assigning them an enigmatic "test" that they had to pass if they wished to proceed, before leaving them within the Fade. When the group succeeded in that test, he kept Junko behind and teleported the group away.

Solas appeared again in the fifth chapter, seen in a hospital with Junko, who was close to death from a wound in her shoulder. The two of them were accompanied by some of the Survivors of the event, though they were soon after attacked by strange hooded figures who invaded their minds until everyone was forced away to the Mystery Shack.

In the climax of the event, Solas assisted Junko in calming her powers after they went berserk in the fight against Bill Cipher. He disappeared mysteriously once Junko was safe, though Junko had no memory of her interactions with the man prior to the Gravity Falls Incident.

Civil War

Solas appeared alongside his partners Zaheer and a mysterious third man, showing up next to Junko Enoshima and telling her that her journey was about to end. He explained that he placed the Anchor on Junko in order to open up a gateway to the Fade and "wipe the slate clean." He revealed that he appeared to Junko during the Gravity Falls Incident as a test to see if he would recall her face.

He attempted to use the Anchor before being interrupted by Thor, who wanted to take Junko with him. Solas told him it was too late, and a portal to the Dark Place was opened in an explosion. Unbeknownst to Solas, ripping open the Fade meant opening a portal to the Dark Place, which was not his intention.

It is known that Solas and Zaheer escaped the explosion, due to their appearance in the Revanchist War.

Fighting of the Spirit

Solas made a cameo in the sixth chapter, working with Zaheer and his mysterious third partner in order to gather malevolence for their own personal goals. Though Solas insisted to Milla Maxwell's group that he was not involved in their fight, Milla and the others could not let Solas do as he pleased. In the fighting that followed, the nearby fountain of malevolence exploded and consumed Solas' group.

It is unknown what happened to him following Ash's destruction
