Thor Odinson is a character from Marvel Comics. He made his series debut in Calamitous Reprise.

Canon[]

Thor is the Son of Odin and heir to the throne of Asgard. On his birthday, he received Mjolnir, a hammer which channels the power inside of him and that only he can lift. However, once he was deemed too reckless to handle his powers, Thor was stripped of powers and banished to Earth.

After proving himself worthy once more, Thor got his powers back just in time to stop his adopted brother Loki from taking over Asgard. Once Loki attacked Earth, however, Thor went to stop him, joining The Avengers in the process.

This specific incarnation hails from Earth-199999, otherwise known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Pre-Convergence[]

During the midst of the events of Ragnarok, while escaping from the planet Sakaar up the portal known as the Devil's Anus, the storm within the portal causes Thor to disassociate from his spaceship and end up being dragged into the events of Calamitous Reprise.

Plot Involvement[]

Calamitous Reprise[]

Thor was a short-lived character, interacting briefly with the other participants before being killed off shortly into the event. His death was one of many perforned by a Malice-possessed Dell Honne, though Thor's death was unique in that he was temporarily possessed by Ganondorf before being killed.

During the climactic battle of the event, his hammer Mjolnir, destroyed by Hela in the beginning of Ragnarok, reformed itself and spent all of its time traversing across dimensions looking for Thor for as long as he'd been gone, before eventually honing in on Guy Cecil, whose intense emotion as he fought off Clark Kent was perceived as a call for its power.

In the end of the event, Thor is placed in a coffin and put out to sea, with Mjolnir returned to him, by Guy, hoping that one day, perhaps he may return with his power given back to him.

Character Relationships[]

Thor was not particularly close to anyone over the course of the Convergence Series.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, Thor was the son of Odin and the primeval Earth goddess Gaea, rather than Frigga as it is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
