Toko Fukawa, also known as Genocide Jack, is a major character from Danganronpa. She made her series debut in Ragnarok.

Canon[]

Toko Fukawa was a student who was accepted into Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Writing Prodigy. She was well known for her romance novels such as So Lingers The Ocean and The Family From The Day Before Yesterday.

Toko has a second personality known as Genocide Jack, who is a serial killer who targets young boys and then murders them violently. This alternate personality comes out whenever Toko sees blood, or is pressured into coming out.

She was forced to participate in the Killing School Life game set up by Junko Enoshima. She was framed by Byakuya Togami into being the killer of Chihiro Fujisaki, however, she was proven innocent as Mondo Owada was the true culprit.

She escaped Hope's Peak and joined the Future Foundation, before being sent to Towa City, which was taken over by children.

Pre-Convergence[]

Acting as a senior member of the Coalition, Toko was assigned to oversee a number of the operations that go on within the Ragnarok outpost, collaborating with Rick Flag. She traveled to the world alongside Komaru Naegi, the younger sister of fellow senior member Makoto Naegi.

Plot Involvement[]

Ragnarok[]

Toko Fukawa appeared in Ragnarok alongside Komaru Naegi. She first appeared upset at the volume that Komaru and Gordon Cole were speaking in, before reluctantly agreeing to tag along in order to obtain coffee and donuts at Cole's request.

Fighting of the Spirit[]

Toko appeared in the sixth chapter on Ragnarok in her Genocide Jack personality. She assisted the group in fending off Revanchist forces, but ultimately failed, as the planet was destroyed. It is generally assumed that she was evacuated alongside the other residents of Ragnarok.

Zero Hour[]

Toko appears in the fifth chapter of the event, trapped in a loop of her home world alongside her friends, including Makoto Naegi and Kyoko Kirigiri. Her memories of her experiences with the multiverse are suppressed, as is the case with others in the looped worlds.

After the multiverse is finally restored for good following the defeat of Revan, Toko is revived with her memories intact off-screen. Though not explicitly stated, it is presumed that she settles on Avalon along with Makoto and Kyoko.

Character Relationships[]

  • Komaru Naegi - A character from Danganronpa who debuted in Ragnarok. In canon, the two were partners by happenstance in Towa City, before coming to be genuine friends. They are seen interacting with each other in Ragnarok.
  • Byakuya Togami - A character from Danganronpa who debuted in School Daze under the illusion identity Brennan Ishida. Toko is deeply infatuated and obsessed with Byakuya, a love that is shared by her other personality Genocide Jack.
  • Makoto Naegi - A major character from Danganronpa who chronologically debuted in Shadow Over Gotham. Makoto is a close friend of ally of Toko's, as the two of them emerged as survivors of the Killing School Life in canon. Alongside Makoto and others, Toko acted as a prominent member of the Future Foundation, and later, a part of the Coalition.
  • Kyoko Kirigiri - Another character from Danganronpa who debuted in Chillin' in Columbia. Just like Byakuya, Makoto, and Toko herself, Kyoko was one of the few survivors of the Killing School Life, and a prominent member of both the Future Foundation and the Coalition.
  • Gordon Cole - A character from Twin Peaks who also debuted in Ragnarok. The two were brief, reluctant allies during their time in Ragnarok, Toko accompanying him and Komaru during their expedition to get more donuts and coffee.

Trivia[]
